OK I FAIL

I fail! However I will still post some deer related things and other stuff.

Today like many other days recently on my bike ride or runs though Hines I have seen a few deer. Today was the first day that we had a camera out in enough time to take a picture. We saw these two little bambi(s?)

DAY 63 :: March 4

Justin made me dinner tonight. Venison tenderloin soaked in apple cider, then vinegar and wrapped in bacon. Delicious.

DAY 62 :: March 3

Today we decided to go shed hunting!

We didn't find any antlers, but we did run into this woodpecker.

I did run into this deer out in the woods...

It seems like everyone in Indiana has cement deer in their yard. My sister's came with the house, but they needed a new paint job. Here is what they looked like before...

DAY 60 :: March 1

So this weekend we took a road trip to Indiana! We (Me, Justin, my other sister Jillian, and her two kids) went to visit my sister (Melanie) and her kids and husband. Today Melanie had to work though, and we were looking for something to do. We decided to go to Caleba's. Here are a couple pictures from the trip. Lots of big mounts there!

This is the start of a multiple day long sketching project! It was very fun! I added a sketch each day to the same piece of paper. I wish I could hand letter better. So... I decided to work on that.

Hunters wear camouflage when they hunt to hide from deer, but I always thought it was silly that they had bright orange hats! I learned however that deer can't tell apart brown, green, orange and red. But they might be able to tell apart blue. Hunters usually wear orange so they don't get missed by other hunters...

DAY 46 :: Feb 15

So I have heard, read and seen all of these words repeatedly in the last 4 years. I never knew exactly what they meant. But this does help a little. And it was fun. Maybe I'll frame it and hang it in my kitchen one day.

P.S. I did not run this by a butcher I just found a gross looking diagram online that showed me where the cuts should be and what they should be called.

I have be searching for a vintage deer for awhile. And while I didn't find one yet again, I found this like one eared deer at the thrift store. I hope to dress her up in the future, but this is what 85 cents gets you!
